"Luminosa was developed by Oregon State University’s Hop Breeding Programme, and brought to us by Indie Hops. It is a result of an open pollination of a Sorachi Ace female. This variety has evolved to provide a flavour profile full of citrus and tropical notes, but that tends away from the resin and pines characteristics that provide a certain definition to many of the other hops bred in the Pacific Northwest.

The IPA carries more weight, sweetness and body, which accentuates the tropical fruit in the mix. It brings bright guava / mango / ripe peachy stone fruits, with the alcohol giving a roundness and an intensity."

It's like a boozy lucky dip where you win every time. Classic styles from some well-known brewers, the occasional curve ball or two and, every so often, something totally weird and always wonderful. I've been subscribed to the Beer No Evil subscription for a few months, and highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys experiencing new beers. The tasting notes are spot on. I like that I get to try lots of different beers that I wouldn’t normally choose in a bottle shop - every beer is enjoyable and worth trying - exactly the point of the subscription.
